The new sustainable standard expanded with Recover recycle grey

From fridges to plant trays

Last fall, Desch introduced "The new sustainable standard", Recover® and D-Tect®Plus for the horticultural sector made from recycled plastic. Desch recently expanded its sustainable line further with Recover® recycle grey plant trays. These are made from PS interiors from discarded refrigerators and also have the Cyclos HTP certificate.

Desch introduced the Recover brand in 2019, D-TectPlus was launched last spring. The German inspection institute Cyclos-HTP has certified both brands. They are nIR detectable, which ensures that they are effectively separated from the waste stream during the processing of plastic waste. The pots and trays can then be easily recycled into new plastic products, making the new sustainability standard a reality.

The Recover pots are made from consumer plastic waste and Recover recycle grey trays are made entirely from the recycled insides of discarded refrigerators. D-TectPlus products are made from post-industrial recyclate: plastic waste that comes from other plastic processing companies.

Production at Desch is also running at full speed for the Recover recycle grey thermoform trays. In the Normpack version, 16 products are now available from stock and more are being added.

Desch has compiled a leaflet with the types of Normpack trays that are made of Recover recycle grey. This can be viewed online or will be sent on request.
