Terra Nova Nurseries has released the 2021-2022 edition of its plant catalog, marking nearly 30 years of new plant introductions, creative solutions and breakthrough breeding efforts for the global horticulture industry. The new catalog was designed to include more dedicated space for plant-group comparisons, extended trial sections and an added employee appreciation page.
The catalog features 21 sections with up-to-date plant and breeding information regarding new introductions for 2021-2022; Terra Nova Nurseries’ Plant of the Year; insights about the company’s dedicated and problem-solving employees; national trial garden results; Terra Nova Nurseries’ Damu Flower Valley and Damu’s Jinfo Mountain Project; Terra Nova Nurseries’ display garden; the company’s popular Unrooted Cutting Program (URC); the Terra Nova Nurseries and ThinkPlants™ partnership; top selling plants; sales team contacts; and additional resourceful content not to be missed.
Plants bred for various purposes can be found group-profiled with genera of similar applications in the new catalog, and they are included in detailed page layouts with names such as “Pollinator Plants from Terra Nova Nurseries,” “Terra Nova’s North American Nativars,” and “Terra Nova’s Low Water Users.”
Terra Nova Nurseries used the 2021-2022 catalog as a special platform to introduce Heuchera ‘Black Forest Cake’ as its Plant of the Year. The recognition was given to this variety based upon the excitement received from customers, licensee trialing and employee feedback. Its beautiful foliage, bright cherry-red flowers and excellent habit made it an easy choice for Terra Nova Nurseries’ Plant of the Year recognition.
New to the 2021-2022 catalog is a section detailing Terra Nova Nurseries’ efforts to reduce waste and plastic consumption by moving away from large plastic labels. Terra Nova Nurseries will now be labelling trays with adhesive labels to identify plants coming from cold or warm greenhouses. The company will also be allowing growers the ability to refrain from using Terra Nova Nurseries’ tags typically required for patented varieties to cut back on plastic waste and consumption.
The 2021-2022 catalog is available in both print and digital formats, and the digital version can be downloaded for free on Terra Nova Nurseries’ website. Print copies can be requested through customers’ Terra Nova Nurseries’ sales representatives or brokers.
The catalog can also be viewed at the company’s booth at Farwest 2021, which takes place August 18-20, 2021, in Portland, Oregon. The booth will display brand-new plants from Terra Nova Nurseries, and the company’s staff will host booth tours for attendees of the show.
