OK Plant expands range with 12 cm Phalaenopsis

Starting January 2022 OK Plant will also sell Phalaenopsis in 12 cm pots under the consumer label Kolibri Orchids. The range expansion has been realised through the takeover of Leerdam Orchids in 's-Gravenzande, a specialist in 12 cm and special concepts.

Last summer OK Plant introduced the lifestyle brand Kolibri Company, an umbrella label for the consumer brands Kolibri Orchids, Kolibri Greens and Kolibri Home. OK Plant has been selling Phalaenopsis in 9 cm pots for more than 15 years. With the expansion of the 12 cm assortment, the nursery is responding to the growing need for a strong and varied plant assortment with perfectly matching pots and home accessories to solution-oriented sales furniture for the better green specialist trade.

High level cultivation
A spearhead for OK Plant is to grow a unique assortment and with special concepts, while maintaining quality. "With the purchase of the greenhouse of Leerdam Orchids in January 2021 we immediately started renovating the greenhouse. That was a year ago now," explains Rob Olsthoorn, director of OK Plant. "This has made the greenhouse more sustainable and optimised for cultivation. Thanks to the efforts of our cultivation specialist, the 12 cm Phalaenopsis will soon meet our Kolibri Orchids quality standards."

Central sales and marketing
Kolibri Company is the starting point for a green lifestyle with Kolibri Orchids (9 and 12 cm), Kolibri Greens (6 and 9 cm) and Kolibri Home (including ornamental pots 6, 9 and 12 cm and home accessories). From 3 January onwards, all products from the Kolibri line 12 cm can be ordered from OK Plant's sales department. In Naaldwijk is the showroom where customers can be inspired with the total range and can go for marketing support.
