De Jong Plant BV looks for Chinese partner

“China is a large and promising market for Dutch Hydrangeas”

De Jong Plant B.V. is a Dutch company specializing in the cultivation and development of hydrangea since 1988. The company also supplies other species such as Lavatera, Malva, Paeonia, and Syringa. Due to growing demand from the Chinese market for high-quality hydrangeas, it wants to expand its business by adding a Chinese partner.

De Jong Plant is a 12-hectare family company, run by three brothers. With an experienced team and an evolving product line, the company supplies both national and international customers. "We have been exporting Hydrangeas and supplying the South-Korean and Japanese markets, which has been very successful", according to Jos de Jong.

De Jong Plant is specialized in growing and producing high-quality Hydrangeas in various pot sizes. The company grows Hydrangeas in its Dutch greenhouses and on outside fields. After initial growth, the Hydrangeas, then dormant,  are shipped to overseas destinations. After five to six weeks of transport, the plants arrive, after which they are forced into bloom in cold greenhouses. This process ensures that the plants are ready for sales in Springtime.

“China is a large and promising market and we are receiving more requests from Chinese growers. We are looking for professional partners that can partner with us to produce and sell locally in the country”, Jos says.
