Hoek flowers launches a new sustainable, reusable export box

Hoek flowers is aware that we have to work together to make the world greener and cleaner.

Ruben Hoek, CEO of Hoek group, says, "A sustainable future, only together we create impact. In collaboration with our existing partner Van Vliet - Newwen, we developed our efficient, sustainable export box. The export box is reusable and equipped with RFID, Barcode, and QR, which makes the logistic process of the export boxes traceable. With the introduction of the recyclable export box, Hoek flowers take a step towards a world with 0% waste and 100% circularity'.

Bob IJpelaar, Managing Director of Van Vliet at Newwen, "We only develop multi-useable and returnable concepts. We have never believed in single-use. In recent years, we have done a lot of research into such concepts, often in cooperation with our national and international relations and partners. This included research on crates, folding crates, and more. These expensive forms of returnable totes create many economic disadvantages for our relations. Therefore, many worldwide companies in horti, fruits, and vegetables choose the concept that we have introduced at our partner Hoek flowers. We introduced a completely sustainable product line for floriculture and AGF, which we will, of course, continue to expand rapidly. Many products are in the test phase, and a number are being implemented for air freight, sea freight, and road transport.

"We are enormously proud of this. Hoek flowers is one of our partners who dares to take the step of innovation to make this world a better and greener place, just like us. Together with our retail relations, among others with whom we have long-term contracts, we will introduce a lot more in the near future. Think multi-use trays for load carriers, 100% sustainable retail load carriers, and more. Our existing pool of just under 8 million items is used daily by many thousands of customers and users in Europe."
