No crop in the greenhouse? Keep monitoring!

Now that most crops are coming to an end, and with that, crop rotation and cleaning are approaching, it remains crucially important to continue to monitor flying pests, partly due to the relatively warm weather for the time of year. With the Horiver trapping cards from Koppert, growers can catch whiteflies and thrips.

When a crop is completely removed from the greenhouse, it makes it difficult for a pest such as whitefly to survive. Yet, other pests can remain 'at rest' and emerge before the new plants are in it. By checking Horiver catch cards in that period, growers know exactly what is flying around, even if this period is longer than usual.

With the insight that you gain through good monitoring, growers can start the new cultivation optimally and organically. "So don't be surprised and keep monitoring", the Koppert team concludes the call.
