Realizing geothermal projects don't come with no hiccups. This is again evident from a new update from Aardwarmte Vogelaer.
After a recent setback, which required carrying out a side track drilling, it turned out that more time was needed to complete the final phase of the production well.
The project shared the following update. "In the past month, the third section of the injection well has been drilled. Unfortunately, this took longer than anticipated. Then, the pipes are installed and cemented. This well is then temporarily completed. The drilling rig will then return to the production well to drill the next section. However, the special tool for this has now been delivered, yet."
Unfortunately, it is not feasible to continue the work for the final phase in January. More time is needed to manufacture the required material. The drilling rig will, therefore, be dismantled and removed. In a few months, another drilling rig will come to the production well."
In the meantime, work is being done on a heat network. The December work has been completed. The work will continue in January.
