Danish Floret ApS becomes part of Floral Trade Group

On April 1, 2024, flower and plant wholesaler Floret ApS joined Van der Plas as part of Floral Trade Group (FTG)'s specialty flower trade division.

"Following the acquisition of FloraPlus in March 2023, Van der Plas is further strengthening its position in the Danish market. With Floret, a leading player in Danish trade, FTG expands its international foundation within the specialty flower trade, said CEO Wim van der Plas."

For over 11 years, Floret has been supplying florists, garden centers, wholesalers, and event planners in Denmark. The company has more than 20 years of experience in the flower and plant wholesale business. Floret sells a wide range of flowers, plants, (luxury) home accessories, and decorative materials.

Søren Helmann and Jens Filthuth, founders of Floret, are also pleased with the new direction. Søren Helmann said: "Our people are our strength. This belief informed our decision to join the Floral Trade Group as this organization highly respects family values and people. Joining FTG allows us to leverage our specific knowledge. Moreover, it enables us to benefit from FTG's experience in areas such as sustainability, sourcing, BI, and IT. In this way, we can serve our customers even better." Jens Filthuth added: "Through its subsidiaries, Floral Trade Group also offers us the opportunity to offer an even more extensive range of horticultural products to our customers. We expect that this enables further growth both for us and our customers."

Floret will continue to operate as an independent company but it will now operate under the banner of the Floral Trade Group.
