After eight years of finalising the restoration of core infrastructure across traditional-heritage terraces with these works nearing completion, Margaça is inaugurating its living collections program through a foundational partnership with Heemskerk to showcase a curated collection of Hemerocallis.

Selected for rich fragrance, reliable rebloom, and climate resilience, the daylily collection will serve as both a showcase horticultural feature and a practical ecological tool. Hemerocallis will help as a buffer zone in the garden against invasive species and add extended seasonal colour, supporting Margaça's mission to increase biodiversity and steward the site's unique Atlantic microclimates.
"Margaça is a venue where inspiration, culture, botany, and landscape craft meet. "As we complete essential restoration, we're thrilled to begin our collections with Heemskerk, bringing exceptional, verifiably sourced daylilies that represent beauty and function while stewarding its legacy for future generations."
