Prominent Speakers at Seminar ‘Alternative energy sources in horticulture’

On Wednesday, June 10 2015, Priva will organize and host the seminar ‘Alternative energy sources in horticulture’ at the Priva Campus in De Lier. International growers will be informed about this subject by various prominent speakers. The mix of speakers makes the seminar very interesting with much valuable knowledge and information for the visitor as result.



Senior researcher on the subjects’ climate and energy, Feije de Zwart (Wageningen UR), will give the recent developments of alternative energy sources. Afterwards, innovative grower Kees Vahl will talk about his project in Bralitz (East Germany) where his nursery uses the warmth of a nearby carpentry. Director of Installect, Gerrit Kamphuis, and specialist in heat pumps, Dick van Giezen (Carrier), will let the visitor know the developments and possibilities of storage of heat and cold, drill methods and the use and optimization of heat pumps. Remi Blokker, director of Bluerise, will talk the about use of rest cold and cooling with deep sea water. In the final panel discussion, the visitors’ personal horticultural challenges in energy sources will be discussed. The seminar includes a network lunch.
