Guatemala: Two Dümmen Orange employees still missing

Two employees of Dümmen Orange have been missing for ten days now, since volcano Fuego erupted in Guatemala on June the 3rd. "Because their homes are buried under the ash, it's a very dark scenario," Nicolette Straver, Corporate Communication Specialist at the Dutch breeder, told Dutch newspaper AD. She confirmed the report to FloralDaily and sent us a few photos:

"When the volcano erupted, we approached all our employees. About thirty employees have been evacuated now," she says. The two employees who are still missing, are 38-year-old María, and 29-year-old Raquel, who was pregnant. The company is in touch with relatives of the employees in question, who don't expect them to be still alive.

Dümmen Orange is distributing medicine, clothing, food and fresh water to people in the affected region. Straver: "People can use the showers and facilities at our farm. We're looking into how we can further help in Guatemala.''
