Early sales opportunities

Some of the introductions for the coming year are already available as of October 1st. Here, PanAmerican Seed presents the annual varieties. In the coming months, they will also show the early introductions of their perennials, cool-season varieties, pot plants and cut flowers.

Angelonia Serena Rose
A new colour segment for Serena. Dense spikes feature large florets with a deep rose bloom and a dark eye. The deep colour of the new Angelonia Serena Rose is maintained in high light and high heat environments. Vigour and height fit the series well. The series currently includes White, Blue, Purple, Rose and two mixes.

Serena and companion Serenita are the only seed angelonias on the market, giving premium results with less labor and more efficiency. Both fit into warm bedding production, are perfect for grower choice premium containers, and excel in landscapes, thanks to their high durability.

Cosmos sulphureus Mandarin
This new Cosmos variety has a deeper orange colour, a better habit and is more uniform compared to competing varieties. Cosmos sulphureus Mandarin has a slightly more compact habit and a more mounded shape.

Cosmos Sonata Red Shades and Mix Improved
A bright red colour expands the Cosmos Sonata series. Cosmos Sonata Red Shades features the seed quality the series is known for, with a flower that is more nicely closed. The garden cosmos is easy to grow; professional growers choose Sonata because of its capabilities for blooming in the pack and pot.

Cosmos Sonata Mix Improved offers the most complete colour range in Cosmos bipinnatus, adding the strong Purple colour and bright new Red Shades into the mix.

French Marigold Flamenco
With its yellow center and red-tipped petals, this novelty colour will look good in patio containers and gardens alike. This standalone variety in the French Marigold assortment calls out its unique pattern, similar to Fireball and Strawberry Blonde. For habit and flower timing, Flamenco is in line with the Bonanza series.

Osteospermum Akila Sunset Shades
This new multicolour segregating mix includes popular colours like yellow, magicians and rose-reds, plus salmon, apricot and orange shades. Osteospermum Akila Sunset Shades is a mix of the colours of the setting sun. The most compact seed osteo series, Akila matches or surpasses vegetative series for easy, no-pinch production, with uniformity and top-selling colours. It delivers 5% higher germination than competitors for higher yields, according to PanAmerican Seed.

Petunia Easy Wave Lavender Sky Blue shows shades of lavender to sky blue; colours will be darker under cooler and lower light conditions. Petunia Easy Wave brings in a wide array of decorator colours and mixes. They’re suitable for solo and mixed planters and baskets, gardens and landscapes. Best of all, Easy Wave delivers customer-pleasing performance all Summer long.

Easy Wave varieties are more mounded with more controlled spread than Wave varieties.

Verbena Quartz XP Bordeaux fits the XP profile of the series, and holds its colour better in high light landscapes. Delivers a tight, 7-day flowering window, earlier and significantly better branching, and reduced internode length. The Verbena Quartz XP series has strong seed quality, high germination and young plant vigour, assuring superior performance in packs and 4-in./10-cm pots.
