Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association announced has opened its search for a new executive director.
Reporting to the ONLA Board of Directors, the executive director is responsible for the leadership and management of the association, its programming, and its office and employees. The executive director, in close coordination with the Board, provides leadership in the development of the association's vision, mission and goals and of the corresponding strategies, plans and budgets to achieve them; advises, makes recommendations to and assists the board of directors in formulating policies for the association; and ensures the delivery and quality of the association's programs, products and services. In March of 2017, ONLA retained Ken Fisher, AmericanHort President and CEO, to also serve as Executive Director and provide a strategic assessment of organizational priorities and resources and to help guide the accomplishment of overall association deliverables and goals. As our industry continues to grow and prosper, ONLA’s focus on industry education and certification, advocacy, workforce development, facilitating commerce, and expanding the professional network has also grown. To help steward this new growth, the ONLA Board of Directors has identified the need for a permanent, full-time Executive Director position to continue to ensure maximum effectiveness, support, and results for ONLA members. Fisher will remain in the role until a candidate has been selected and assist in the transition.
A search committee has been formed, comprising ONLA Board President Emily Showalter, of Willoway Nurseries, Inc.; ONLA Board President-Elect Devon Stanley, of Benchmark Landscape Construction; ONLA Immediate Past-President Tim Clark, H.J. Benken Florist & Greenhouses, Inc.; and current ONLA Executive Director Ken Fisher.
