Vietnam: Dalat Hasfarm's Thomas Hooft Foundation supports poor families and students

In its 26 years of sustainable development, Dalat Hasfarm has been producing high quality flowers and plants and reducing the effects on the environment. Corporate Social Responsibility is an important aim for the company.

In line with this vision, Dalat Hasfarm has established the Thomas Hooft foundation in 2015 to reach out the community via charity projects. The foundation was named after its first general director Thomas Hooft who led the company from 1994 to 2012.

Over the last 5 years, Thomas Hooft foundation has sponsored around VND 5 billion to support housing for poor families, provided scholarships for elementary schools, high schools and University in Lam Dong and cooperated on research topics with Dalat University and National University of Vietnam in Hanoi.

In December 2019, the first charity walk was organized around Xuan Huong lake in Dalat to raise extra funds. During this event, 400 Million VND was donated via the Dalat Peoples committee to finance building houses for poor families in Lam Ha, Don Duong, Tanung and Xuan Tho.

In this year, another charity walk is planned for December 6 in Dalat to again raise funds for housing for poor families as well support the Association for blind people in Lam Dong and the hearing impaired children school in Dalat. "At the same time we hope to announce our first funding for projects in the Mekong Delta."

Dalat Hasfarm hopes that the support from the Thomas Hooft Foundation will contribute to the communities to improve their living conditions as well provide the means to enhance their studies.
