Growers like to keep their entire watering system clean. Benfried offers the Mineral product for this purpose. The product dissolves caked-on deposits in pipes and manure troughs.
The chemical application of fertilizers is a complex matter, explains Peter van der Wel from Benfried: "When adding calcium, sulfates or phosphates, there will always be compounds between these elements, which when accumulated can cause blockages."
The mineral is a formulation of a special type of polymer that is able to keep these salts in solution for much longer. "It is even capable of dissolving accumulation that has already occurred. By simply dispensing into the slurry tank, growers can keep the whole system clean of fertilizer precipitation."
Peter lists the benefits of the product: The product counteracts deposits of accumulated fertiliser and lime, excludes precipitations of (liquid) fertiliser during pH fluctuations in the water system and counteracts channel formation in the substrate.
Mineral removes all inorganic contamination. In order to also keep the organic contamination out of the system, Easy Flow is usually chosen. This product based on hydrogen peroxide is a cleaning agent that keeps the system free of organic material. Just like Mineral, Easy Flow is easy to dose in the manure basin or to pump into the water system with a pulse pump.
