A variety that was first to be discarded by the people in the test fields, because it had no real flowers. Fortunately, the people at Miyoshi with the selection team of Ball saw the potential and Dianthus Barbatus Green Ball came into existence. It has been available to the global flower market since 2011 and has gained popularity over the years. Now, two new varieties are added; Punky Ball, for a funky look, and Cocoa Ball, for a more classical retro look.
Texture
The Dianthus Green Ball took off with a texture never seen before and that's also one of the main reasons why it gained popularity so fast; it adds textures to arrangements and bouquets, explains Carmen Lucia Marquez of BallSB.

Different look and more productive
According to Marquez, these new products not only look different - a wilder messy look to add disheveled looks to arrangements and bouquets - but also have a grower advantage. "They both are more productive in the fields than others already commercial." They were officially launched in March during the Dianthus Week 2022 in Colombia and several growers are already trialing them and BallSB has materials ready for trials worldwide.
