Research on ornamental native plants in Latin America has its book

The Institute of Floriculture, Institute National of Agricultural Technology of Argentine has provided training to Latin American researchers in the area of ornamental genetic resources through the delivery of 10 courses, carried out in conjunction with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs International Trade and Worship of Argentina.

From this, a network of Latin-American professionals was formed, who constantly exchange experiences and have generated joint projects. Likewise, it promoted the generation of the publication Ornamental native plants of Latino-America: experiences towards value enhancement.

In this book, research was focused on the assessment of native ornamental flora through germplasm characterization works, genetic improvement, and transfer of genetic resources with ornamental potential and/or varieties to the floricultural sector.

It is important to highlight that each work was submitted to two evaluations by experts, one internal from the course's faculty and another external.

The work is intended for researchers in the area of ornamental genetic resources and also companies dedicated to the improvement and commercialization of ornamental plants that have R&D.

The publication is in Spanish with English abstracts.
