Seeing TC gerbera plants, visiting growers and the flower market

HilverdaFlorist delegation visits KF Bioplants in India

KF Bioplants is producing tissue culture Gerbera plants for HilverdaFlorist for 25 years already. This Indo-Dutch association, which is based in India, started with a humble figure of a few thousand plants, and now, they take pride in being the producer of the large market share of supply of TC Gerbera plants HilverdaFlorist has, which is over 75%. Often, a team of HilverdaFlorist visits KF Bioplants in India, and earlier this month, the Directors, Marc Rost and Bart Sneek, along with Marcel Steekelenburg  (Export Manager India), came over for a week to visit KF's TC laboratories, their clients, the flower market in India and KF's gerbera projects.

"The delegation had an overwhelming experience at the flower market in India, which consist of more than 90% of our Gerbera's varieties", says Rohan Jadhav, Senior Business Development Executive at KF Bioplants. According to him, HilverdaFlorists has been instrumental in the whole development of KF Bioplants in India, and this also helped them to create this prominent Gerbera market brick by brick over the last 25 years. The team had a fruitful discussion with Sunil Goyekar, Sharad Kadam, Sunil Kamthe, Vaibhav Patane, and Kiran Jadhav at the flower market.

They also visited the growers of KF Bioplants; Mr. Sahebrao Jadhav, Mr. Ganpath Rakshe, and Mr. Ganesh Panmand in the Pune region. "It was a rich experience for them to see the quality of the Flowers and  the consistency of technical support they receive from KF."

Also, KF's efforts to promote Floriculture in the country were well appreciated by Rost and Geradus. "To support our grower, right from site selection till helping him to sell his flowers to reliable buyers in the market, is the strength of KF Bioplants," Jadhav explains. "With our professional and timely technical support, we have established a milestone in the Floriculture industry, creating massive success stories for Gerbera farmers in the country." However, since the use of cut flowers in India is limited to largely wedding decorations, the market size has not improved as it should have been considering development in other industries, he stresses.

At KF Bioplants

KF Bioplants has always been at the forefront of ensuring the sustainable Floriculture sector in the country and hence took the initiative to establish the "Growers' Flower Council of India" with like-minded input suppliers and farmers in 2020. Today GFCI is actively supporting the farmers with crucial policy changes and quality inputs.

KF Bioplant's Kishore Rajhans (Director), Ashish Phadke (GM Marketing), and Sanket Pandit (Sr. Marketing Executive) showed the team of HilverdaFlorist their activities.
