Fresh-o-Fair organizes 'International Florists Trip' to Ecuador 2023

From May 27-June 4, Fresh-o-Fair is organizing an International Florist Trip to Ecuador in 2023. In this nine-day event, florists get to dive right into the heart of the country’s thriving flower business. “It is a unique hands-on learning experience, and florists from around the world can participate”, says Claudia Muñoz, co-founder of Fresh-o-Fair, an online flower supply platform.

“The event is divided into two parts, four nights in Quito, the country’s largest city and capital, then four in Cotopaxi, home to one the highest active volcanoes in the world. In front of such a breathtaking backdrop, Fresh-o-Fair will introduce its guests to some of the biggest names in the Ecuadorian flower producers, including Nevado Roses, Bellaflor, Argi Rose, Florequisa, Agrogana, and Endless Spring Farms.”

“Participants will spend their days touring the farms in Ecuador’s perpetual summer, conversing with the flower farmers, and seeing how all the incredible flowers are grown, from seed to bloom. All meals, local transport, and accommodations will be arranged, with participants staying in hacienda-style hotels.”

But this event is more than farm tours. Fresh-o-Fair has even organized seminars and special events with industry experts, such as breeders and cargo agencies, to show how Ecuador does business and how florists can benefit from direct-from-farm. Participating florists will also be able to roll up their sleeves in a masterclass with the talented master florist LaParis Phillips of Brooklyn Blooms.

“She will share her experience, tips, and tricks on how she creates show-stopping floral arrangements that can be incorporated into all kinds of floral arrangements and designs. Then, before the trip is over, participants will get the opportunity to put what they have learned to the test with a friendly flower-arranging competition.”

According to Fresh-o-Fair, this international florist’s trip is not just about showcasing flowers. It is about immersing international florists in Ecuadorian floriculture so they can see how much it offers them and their business.

“Every aspect of the event has been organized to create an open, welcoming environment. International florists are encouraged to communicate, ask questions, and share ideas, not just with the flower businesses they meet in Ecuador but also with each other. Through events like this, Fresh-o-Fair hopes to keep the international florists focused on Ecuador and promote direct-from-farm business.”

Registration is open till February 15, so for more information about this international florist’s trip to Ecuador, visit their event page, or email the team directly with any questions or concerns. It is also possible to meet the team at the IPM Essen in Germany next week (Hall 1 1D33).
