William van der Burg

NL: Introduction of new cutting/plant sorting machine

"We offer a standard range of machines. In addition, we are always open to realizing customer-specific modifications and/or special machines," says William van der Burg of Willburg Projecten.

He points to a new cutting/plant sorting machine, which combines innovative cameras and corresponding software. "When the customer approached us, we started our research. Now, about two years later, we have a truly solid product. We have also already introduced several similar sorting belt systems with photo boxes."

The camera boxes can select nearly anything. Volume, height, 3D, ripeness, number of buds, etc. The cameras Willburg uses originally come from the automotive industry to detect defects. Thanks to a good connection in this industry, Willburg can offer these at a relatively low price. Moreover, service for repairs or a possible replacement is easily arranged.

The new system also offers many advantages to the user, William continues: "It is very flexible and user-friendly because you can add things yourself in the user interface. This way, you can easily switch between different products or sortings, or even add extra sorting lines if necessary."

A final major advantage is that Willburg has all the expertise. Both the software and the hardware are developed and built by themselves. "This allows us to switch quickly. For our customers, this is a great advantage, as garden work generally always needs to continue."
