Harkness Roses was established in 1879 and has become well-known as a grower of top-quality roses, with nearly 150 years of breeding history. As a benchmark in British rose breeding, Harkness has exhibited at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show for over 140 consecutive years, winning 18 gold medals. Their rose varieties are renowned worldwide for their exquisite forms, strong disease resistance, and long-lasting blooms. In 1986, during Queen Elizabeth II's state visit to China, the Queen personally planted the "Volunteer" rose, bred by Harkness, at the Grand View Park in Kunming.

J. Berry Nursery was founded in 2006 by the father-and-son team Jim Berry and Jonathan Berry in Texas, USA. J. Berry Nursery is an innovative horticultural company known for its cutting-edge breeding programs. The company's flagship brand, Hollywood Hibiscus, features unique advantages that set it apart: flowers that bloom for up to three days (compared to one day for conventional varieties), high bud production, strong disease resistance, and a compact growth habit — making it ideal for home gardening. Under the partnership agreement, Hongyue Horticulture has been granted exclusive distribution rights for J. Berry Nursery's hibiscus varieties in the Chinese market, introducing this innovative series to meet growing consumer demand for premium tropical flowers.
