Kientzler reflects on CAST 2025

Kientzler has described CAST 2025 as "one of our most noteworthy CAST events ever." The company launched more new varieties than ever before, celebrated the addition of its new team member, Nathan Sell, and announced the addition of new production facility in Guatemala. Below are a few new variety highlights that Kinetzler showed off at CAST 2025.

Bidens
The dedication of their Kientzler breeding team was shown in their Bidens display. They now have a Bidens habit and color for every possible consumer desire. To simplify the Bidens Collection, the company has divided their Bidens into three series based on habit size, those being Bidens BEE - Medium vigor, perfect for baskets and patio pots, Mini BEE which is a more compact version, and BEE Meadow - Vigorous, excellent for landscapes and large baskets.

Attendees were extremely impressed with the enlarged bloom size of 'Spicy Electric White Improved', the large yellow blooms on 'SuperStar' and the innovative pink color of 'Pink Buzz'.

Bracteantha Sunbrero

Coleus TerraScape
The colorful display of Coleus TerraScape proved to be a highlight at CAST. The series currently features 9 upright varieties and 3 mounded varieties. All varieties are wilt resistant in the summer heat, late flowering and bring new vibrant colors into the market.

Coleus TerraScape (upright)
Three new additions to the upright Coleus TerraScape have been added. The new novelty variety, 'Pink Ribbons' will astonish any garden enthusiast with its bright pink bands of color.

Coleus TerraScape (Free-branching mound)
The market for free branching mounded coleus continues to grow. The new variety 'All That Lava' features multicolored leaves with a vibrant red main color.

Calendula PowerDaisy:
The attention of attendees at CAST quickly shifted towards the Calendula. This renewed focus came from both the overall quality of our genetics and the unique daisy-like bloom on the new variety 'Mango'. Expect all varieties to hold at retail, self-clean, show early spring color and tolerate cold conditions.

The two new varieties 'Mango' and 'Buttermilk' both proved to be popular additions. Attendees were enthralled by 'Mango' and loved the soft yellow color of 'Buttermilk'.

Calibrachoa
In the future, Kientzler will greatly expand the designer colors within its compact Calibrachoa Pocket series and medium vigor Calibrachoa Unique series. The new varieties on display only offer a small sampling of the company's future additions.

Calibrachoa Pocket
Attendees were highly interested in the pleasing color of 'Orchid'. All varieties within the Calibrachoa Pocket series have strong summer performance, a highly controllable habit, high branching, early flowering and continuous blooming. No PGRs required.

Calibrachoa Unique
'Sangria Fizz' rapidly became a massive hit at CAST. Attendees were fascinated by the picotee bloom coloration. Expect the grower friendly Unique series to have uniform habit sizes and flowering between all varieties.
