Decorum launches latest short documentary in lead up to World Cup

In the latest episode of A Path to Floral Mastery, the documentary journeys to the enchanting National Botanical Garden of Hungary. Among centuries-old trees, exotic plants, and lush flowers, meeting one of the leading floral artists of his generation: Gábor Nagy.

His story is one of passion, talent, and determination. Growing up in his parents' flower shop, Gábor was surrounded by the magic of flowers from an early age. What started as play among blooms soon blossomed into a deep-rooted love for floral design.

Yet his path initially seemed destined to follow a different direction: Gábor aspired to become a doctor. The analytical thinking and precision he sought in the medical field ultimately proved to be indispensable qualities in his work as a floral artist. When he ultimately chose a career in floral art, he brought these skills with him, developing a unique style that masterfully blends technique and emotion.

An impressive track record
Since then, Gábor has rapidly risen to the international top tier of the floral world. He achieved significant recognition by winning the Hungarian Championship in 2017 and the Eurofleurs 2017, the European Championship for Young Florists. His innovative and artistic designs earned him second place at the Europa Cup 2022 in Poland. Currently, Gábor is preparing for the World Cup of Floral Art 2025 in The Hague, further cementing his status as a leading figure in floral design.

A style that unites art and nature
What makes Gábor's work so distinctive is his ability to seamlessly weave elements of the visual arts into floral design. His sources of inspiration are diverse: painting, sculpture, architecture, and graphic art. Each floral piece is approached as a true work of art, with great attention to composition, colour, texture, and movement.

His style is often described as modern, refined, and profoundly artistic. He boldly applies traditional materials in unconventional ways and continuously experiments with new techniques and forms. Sustainability and the use of natural materials play a key role in his design philosophy.

With his openness, craftsmanship, and artistic vision, Gábor Nagy inspires florists around the globe. His story demonstrates the importance of staying true to your passion and finding your own voice within the art form you practice.
