US (ND): Graduate opens mobile flower shop in Grand Forks

Ellie McGlynn is putting the 'petal' to the floor for Grand Forks starting this summer.

After a year in the works, McGlynn has her mobile flower truck, "Lilies of the Valley," up and running for the greater Grand Forks area. Just graduating from UND in May, she is diving headfirst into her own business by chasing her passion for flowers.

"Flowers touch people in such different ways," McGlynn said. "They are given to people in their mourning periods of life and given to people in the celebrations of life. They meet everyone where they are at in life. I just find joy in giving different parts of my flower passion to people because I know they are at a different part of life and receiving flowers for some reason."

She was inspired by the variety of mobile units in more southern states and thought there was a market for a to-the-door floristry service in Grand Forks. Now out of school, McGlynn is hoping to provide a streamlined flower-buying process for the Grand Forks area.
