Over 160 growers gather at customer day in Romania

After a long coronavirus break, a customer day was held for the second time at the Romanian flower wholesaler Erma Flori in Miercurea Nirajului, around 250 kilometres northwest of Bucharest. With more than 160 growers, the number of participants almost doubled compared to the previous year, according to the organisers.

Michael Ungethüm, Sales Director at Elsner pac, presented the main product ranges of the long-established Dresden-based company. Even though the economic conditions in Romania are very tense and the Ukraine war is also casting its shadow, the easternmost country in the EU is recording a steady increase in plant consumption.

Michael Ungethüm reports: "As an East German company, we have always been close to Eastern European markets. I also see attractive sales opportunities for our young plants in these emerging markets today, but even more so in the coming years. The classic bedding and balcony assortment, especially our pelargoniums, are enjoying growing popularity."
