Today is the last day of Proflora 2025!

Dianthus in the spotlight and a toast to a sustainable future

Day two of Proflora started with a breakfast hosted by Alexandra Farms, celebrating their 20th anniversary of growing exceptional garden roses. Joey Azout spoke about the company's growth, the people, and, of course, the roses.

The show began a bit slowly, but soon the halls filled with people. As many know, Colombia is renowned for its large roses, but the country also produces a wide range of Dianthus. At the Breiercross booth, Daniela Botero Trujillo shared more about Dianthus Land Colombia—a collaboration of nine Colombian Dianthus breeders aiming to raise awareness of carnations in the United States, particularly their broad range of colors and varieties. As Daniela said: "Dianthus is mainly known in red, white, and yellow, but there are so many beautiful colors that we want to share with the world!"

On Thursday afternoon, Florverde hosted a toast in their booth to mark the start of a new cooperation between Florverde and Greenhouse Sustainability. Florverde will introduce the tool to growers in both Colombia and Ecuador. Augusto Solano—who also celebrated his birthday yesterday—shared: "This alliance with Greenhouse Sustainability is going to be really important as a next step in sustainability in the flower industry." More on the collaboration soon.
