The international floriculture industry has gathered in Vijfhuizen, the Netherlands, today for the IFTF. Over the next three days, the focus will be on the latest flowers, technologies, and services. Nearly 300 exhibitors are present.
It's a time of contrasts for the global ornamental horticulture sector. Uncertainty in the world and inflation do not provide fertile ground for luxury products like flowers. At the same time, these beautiful products offer a touch of happiness — a moment of beauty in anxious times, and even a way to almost escape reality. The IFTF showcases the finest creations for that: new varieties alongside timeless classics, with both growers and breeders proudly presenting their showpieces, hoping to surprise old and new acquaintances alike.
This is, of course, complemented by technological innovations, post-harvest solutions, and logistics providers. The floriculture industry continues to innovate, with "doing more with less" being a key theme, referring to almost everything involved in cultivation - water, crop protection products, labor, fertilizers.... Growers are investing in this development, while packaging and automation specialists are responding to the global labor shortage and the demand for reduced use of raw materials.
More on this in the coming days — but first, we're taking photos! FloralDaily is also present at the trade show. You can find us at our booth (C1.23) or on the exhibition floor!
