Leo Kuyvenhoven and Together2Grow:

NL: Van Vliet visits Decorum growers on-site

Van VLIET Flower Group has been an official dealer of Decorum products for quite a while, and last week they visited two of the growers. One, Leo Kuyvenhoven, supplies anthuriums and the other, Together2Grow, alstroemerias under the brand name Decorum. During the visit, the growers showed their commitment to make their flowers worthy of this brand. Van Vliet made a nice photo recap of their visit.

Decorum Company is a cooperation of sixty plants- and flower growers offering a high-end quality assortment.

Leo Kuyvenhoven
Anthurium! Van Vliet first visited anthuriums grower Leo Kuyvenhoven. According to Kuyvenhoven, with his 9.000 m2, he can be considered a small company, however, this gives him great advantages regarding the maintenance of his crop. For a grower, the condition of their crop is paramount and he is happy to work and walk through all the flower beds to evaluate the state of it. "It allows me to take action immediately when necessary. With ntahurium, the micro climate is crucial to the health of the plants. If it's just not right, you will see it directly".

Having started with traditional varieties (Tropical, Acropolis and Pistache), Leo Kuyvenhoven now also offer some exclusive high-end anthuriums such as Peruzzi, Silvia, Anouk, Lumina and Spirit.

Together2Grow
Their second stop was at one of the locations of Together2Grow. This company is the latest member to join Decorum, supplying alstroemerias. On 7.6 hectares divided over their locations, they grow 30 million stems annually. Originally, the alstroemeria grows in a mountainous environment where the nights are cold and the days warm. Within the greenhouse, they create the same conditions, 5-10 °C at night and 25 °C during the day, to get the best out of the flower.

To optimise the handling process after harvesting, Together2Grow invested in machinery which analyses 4 stems per second on several properties. Currently, they are the only dealers of charmelia in the EU and have introduced the Blendy mix with a fixed composition of colours and novelty varieties as ongoing concepts.
