New from Pöppelmann TEKU

Fully recyclable plant pots, propagation and nursery trays, square-round containers in new sizes

Pöppelmann TEKU will present its extended range of innovative, fully recyclable plant pots at the IPM 2019 from 22 to 25 January 2019 in Essen/Germany. Highlights of the trade fair also include additions to the propagation and nursery tray series, as well as a larger selection of square-round containers.

Pöppelmann blue: range extended to include fully recyclable plant pots
Pöppelmann blue is the company-wide initiative developed by the Pöppelmann Group, which is firmly committed to a closed material cycle. Pöppelmann TEKU contributes to this with fully recyclable plant pots. Just in time for the IPM, the range of resource-saving plant pots has been expanded. In the colour “Recycling Blue”, the pots are made of Pöppelmann PCR, a pure post-consumer recycled plastic. The plastic used for this comes entirely from the recyclable waste collection by Der Grüne Punkt – Duales System Deutschland (DSD). The pots are one hundred percent recyclable. After use, they are returned to the recyclable waste collection once more. This creates a fully closed material cycle at one and the same stage of the value chain. The following plant pot series are now also available in Pöppelmann PCR: VCG, VCH, VCK and VTG.

New propagation and nursery trays
Rapid growth, healthy plants, excellent machinability – this is what the BP series of propagation and nursery trays stand for. It has now been extended to include three innovative additions. With a volume of 76 ml, BP 3153/60 T is ideal for plugs with a height of up to 48 mm. Cams that slot into the profile bottom of the tray ensure safe transport. Version BP 2854/72 has a volume of 59 ml and offers optimal spatial utilisation with 476 plants/m2. With a rim height of 21 mm, the trays are ideal for printing or equipping with adhesive labels and RFID tags. The BP 3153/28 trays present highly useful tapering of 12° and a rounded bottom to prevent plants from settling on them. This makes the trays easier to remove. A bottom groove ensures excellent ventilation and good irrigation and drainage.

Square-round containers: extended series and eye-catching design
New, space-saving square-round containers: the MQF series by Pöppelmann TEKU is characterised by significantly improved space utilisation compared to the use of standard round pots with the same volume. The series now also includes MQF 16 x 16 x 21.5 cm and MQF 18.5 x 18.5 x 25 cm. Both models are equipped with the established multi-hole cross bottom, which allows for optimal irrigation and drainage. The MQF square-round containers in the dimensions 18.5 x 18.5 x 25 cm will in future also permit customised designs. During production, Pöppelmann TEKU uses the proven IML (in-mould labelling) process. In this process, pre-printed labels are attached directly to the plant pot, creating a high-quality and visually appealing unit. This way, the label cannot be removed, either wilfully or unintentionally.
