1-800-Flowers.com reports Q1 loss, tops revenue estimates

1-800-Flowers.com (FLWS) came out with a quarterly loss of $0.10 per share versus the Zacks Consensus Estimate of a loss of $0.12. This compares to loss of $0.24 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

This quarterly report represents an earnings surprise of 16.67%. A quarter ago, it was expected that this flower and gift retailer would post earnings of $0.20 per share when it actually produced earnings of $0.23, delivering a surprise of 15%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates four times.

1-800-Flowers.com, which belongs to the Zacks Retail - Mail Order industry, posted revenues of $283.77 million for the quarter ended September 2020, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 7.72%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $187.26 million. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates two times over the last four quarters.
