Kordes Roses takes home 15 prizes at 60th International Rose Trials in The Hague

On the 2nd of July, the 60th International Rose Trials in the Westbroekpark in The Hague took place, with one competitor ending up head and shoulders above the competition. With a total of 15 prizes won, a number never before seen in the competition's history, German rose grower Kordes was by far the big winner of the event this year, having bested 350 other roses at the event. 

Everland K-rose crowned at international rose competition in Japan

For the first time, a Korean rose has received the top prize in a global rose contest. The International Rose Competition in Gifu Prefecture in Honshu, Japan, selected the Perfume Everscape, a rose developed at Everland, as the winner in four categories, including the Gold Medal, the highest award.

Roses Forever's garden roses scoop prizes

Two new garden roses from Danish rose breeding company Roses Forever have been awarded at the 70th international Rosenneuheiten-Wettbewerb 2022 in Baden-Baden, Germany, which took place earlier this week. The rose 'Why Not?' Plant'n'Relax won the Casino Baden-Baden award, and the 'Norwegian Girl' Plant'n'Relax won the silver medal. In total, 200 rose varieties competed.

Star Roses and Plants won three awards from the American Rose Trials for Sustainability program

Star Roses and Plants has recently won three awards from The American Rose Trials for Sustainability (A.R.T.S.) program. A.R.T.S. identifies the most sustainable, hardy, pest-resistant, and beautiful rose cultivars for use in American landscapes and gardens.

National Rose Trial Garden of Australia 2022 awards

Rose Trial Gardens exist throughout the world. At least 25 are acknowledged by the World Federation of Rose Societies (WFRS). In Australia, the National Rose Trial Garden (NRTGA) was established in 1996 to trial roses not yet commercially released, bred locally or internationally. The purpose of the Trial Garden is to identify and promote those roses best suited to Australian growing conditions, promote Australian Rose Breeding, provide information on roses to the public, and provide feedback to Rose Breeders, growers, and retailers.

The spring edition of Florall attracted 75 exhibitors and a lot of visitors from Flanders and abroad. Both groups respected the Covid measures and were satisfied with the possibility of meeting (potential) trade partners in a personal way because personal contact is the essence of a trade fair.

Alexandra Farms garden rose wins' best in class' at SAF's outstanding varieties competition

Alexandra Farms announces that they received several awards – including the coveted 'Best in Class' – for three of their garden roses in the 2022 Outstanding Varieties Competition. The contest was held during the 137th annual Society of American Florists' Convention in Orlando earlier this month.

Check out the results of Glasgow's 34th International Rose Trials

The results for this year's City of Glasgow International Rose Trials have been announced. Judges and rose experts from around the world paid a visit to Glasgow's Tollcross Park on Friday for the City of Glasgow's 34th International Rose Trials. The winner of the Lord Provost's Cup – for the rose with the highest points - was the Green Connection Sweet 16 roses by Martin Vissers. The winner of the Gold Medal was Art Rose by NIRP International. The winners of Silver were Martin Visser's Spirit of Love and Poulsen Roser's Baroniet Rosendal – which also won the Tollcross Fragrance prize.
