Svensson launches three novelties to reduce energy consumption:

Double screen solution for more energy savings at night

At GreenTech, Svensson is introducing 3 new solutions that help growers reduce their energy consumption while getting a better climate and crop quality.

“Energy-saving is back at the top of the priority list,” says CEO Anders Ludvigson. “The recent period shocked the market, and there’s now a new higher level in contract pricing. Energy-saving has been a focus at Svensson almost since we started making screens after the 1970s oil crises, but now there’s been this real interest from customers to go further.”

Real-time monitor
Energy Monitor is a real-time monitor in that visualizes savings (and missed savings) in energy and money when using climate screens. It provides automated advice for the right screen strategy, helping growers get the most out of climate screens.

Double screen solution
ENERGYPerfect is a double-screen solution for more energy savings at night by combining the new all-aluminum Obscura climate screen with a Luxous energy screen. This allows growers to save even more energy.

Warmer climates
PARperfect Cooling is the PARperfect solution for warmer climates to reduce high cooling costs in semi-closed greenhouses.

Each of these 3 solutions comes complete with advice from Svensson’s climate experts within Svensson’s advisory service, Climate House. “As a grower, you need solutions, not just new equipment,” says Climate Expert Ton Habraken. “So for each of the solution packages, we’ve designed a program of Climate House Advisory Sessions based on the insights we’ve gathered over many years now of best practice,” he adds.

For the launch of Energy Monitor, Svensson’s R&D team developed a module on Based on greenhouse measurements from the climate computer, the module calculates and shows current and historical savings using the Svensson climate screens. Linked to this, Energy Monitor gives unique and automated advice to the grower on how energy savings can be maximized by opening, closing, or changing screening strategy.

As part of ENERGYperfect, Svensson is introducing a new all-aluminum climate screen. “This new screen is a flame retardant Obscura all aluminum climate screen, which blocks assimilation light, has a high screening value which allows it to be applied in lighted crops also to keep the light from the lamps in the greenhouse has and increases the plant temperature,” says Svensson product manager, Paul Arkesteijn. “It gives additional energy savings, increases the plant temperature, and is a very good match for LED lighted crops.”

Arkesteijn was also involved in developing the PARperfect Cooling solution: “This is a great example of applying a proven concept (namely PARperfect) and focusing all this knowledge and technology on one problem - reducing cooling costs in semi-closed greenhouses in hot regions.”

At the GreenTech, the Svensson team of experts will be present at booth 05.218.
