Climate change has moved from a long-term environmental issue to a complex global development challenge. To meet future food and other bio-based demands (energy, materials, chemicals) higher production levels are required while greenhouse gas emissions need to be reduced. November 30 the UN conference on climate change (COP21) starts in Paris, where world leaders will discuss measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change.

Wageningen University & Research centre aims at using a transdisciplinary approach to find tailor-made “Wageningen Climate Solutions”. Various meetings and debates before, during and after COP21 are organized to discuss the various pathways. On Friday November 27, just before the start of COP21, Wageningen UR organises a Twitter masterclass. Experts Jan Verhagen, Martin Herold, Jan Dijkstra and Sylvia Karlsson-Vinkhuyzen will provide their solutions for a climate smart future. Bram de Vos will guide the discussion.
